11/15 @6:30 Basket Making Workshop
Our instructor for this class, Audrie, who can also be addressed by her Indigenous name, AutumnLeaf comes from a long family line of basket makers. She found her love of basket making at a young age and has been perfecting her craft all of her life.
She will be guiding us through every step of making this slim round basket, known as a belt loop tool basket, that you will find so many uses for! From hanging plants, to storing supplies, to having a belt basket when you're in the garden, the uses are endless. The best part is, you will use it with pride knowing you made it yourself!
Every "basket maker" participant will go home with a basket they made in the colors they choose. AutumnLeaf will walk us through each step from start to finish.
Important information to prepare for the class:
- Come dressed in clothes that may get a little wet or messy
- Please bring an old towel or two
- Please bring a rugged pair of scissors or sheers that can cut through thick materials
- If you can, please bring a flat head screwdriver
All of these tools will be available for the group so don't worry if you don't have your own, there will be some to share.
Starting and finishing the basket can be a little tedious. You're welcome to BYOB!
Instruction will begin promptly at 6:30pm. Please arrive a few minutes early to get settled.
**If you would like to bring your child with you they can help make your basket and learn a new skill. They will receive one on one instruction so there is a $15 fee for their attendance. They will not be making their own basket unless you purchase them their own "basket maker" ticket. Children should be capable of making their own basket if they have the endurance to work on a longer project (approx 2-3hrs).
